Kapelsbrug, Delft, The Netherlands
In cooperation with IBA engineering, FDN was responsible for a complete design and project management of a new bridge in Delft, which would replace the old bridge from the 17th century. In order to preserve historical appearance of this part of city, the side of the bridge facing the historical centre remained architecturally unchanged, whilst the other side was completely rebuilt.
The bridge is situated at the important spot, where the canals from the inner city meet with canals connecting the outer part of the city. The new bridge is not used only by trams , but also by vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.
